Reception September 2025 Admission Information

A very warm welcome to all our new Reception children and parents. We cannot wait to meet you and start our learning adventure together.

Starting school can be a daunting prospect so this page is dedicated to getting you and your child school ready. Please familiarise yourself with all the content so that we can make your child's transition into school as seamless as possible!

First things first... we would like to invite you to attend one of our Parent Information Evenings where you can learn all about starting in Reception at Veritas, what to expect over the coming months, and visit the classrooms. It's a great opportunity to meet our teachers and staff, ask questions, and get a feel for our school community. It's also a fantastic way to meet other parents of children in your children's class and perhaps begin to form some friendships that will help your children settle in well in September.

Click the buttons below to let us know which session you will be attending and we look forward to seeing you there!

Supporting your child to prepare for school

We understand that all children develop at their own pace, and when it’s time to start school, some children may need more help than others.

There are key skills that schools expect children to be learning before their first day. Practising these will make your child’s journey to Reception as positive as possible.

If your child is already at nursery, in pre-school, or with a childminder, those professionals will work with you and your child to help get them ready, but there’s lots you can also do at home.

Join us at one of our School Readiness Workshops to find out more about what you can do to build your child’s confidence and independence, helping them feel emotionally and practically prepared to start school.

Please also take a moment to read our School Readiness booklet below which is full of useful information.

Online admission portal

There is some important information we need to know before your child starts school. All parents will receive an email with a link to our online admissions portal to complete the admission form and submit and necessary documents required. It's quick, and simple, and gives us the most opportunity to learn more about your child.

It is imperative we receive a copy of your child's birth certificate so please make sure you have this available, along with photo ID for parents, when completing the form.

The email will be sent from Applicaa - please check your junk and spam folders for your unique login information if this does not reach your inbox by the beginning of May.
