Year Group Information
Year Group Information for Veritas Primary Academy provides parents with clear guidance on what children can expect throughout each stage of their primary education. Our aim is to ensure that families understand how learning develops year by year, including the skills children build, the routines they follow, and the support available to help every child thrive.
In each year group, pupils follow a broad and balanced curriculum that supports reading, writing, mathematics, and wider learning across subjects such as science, history, geography, art, design and technology, music, and physical education. Teachers plan lessons to match children’s needs, with appropriate challenge and opportunities to practise key skills so that pupils make steady progress.
As children move through the school, expectations increase gradually in line with their age and development. Parents are encouraged to engage with learning at home by supporting reading, practising number facts, and speaking with their child about what they are learning. If you have any questions about a specific year group, please contact the school office or your child’s class teacher for further information.
