Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
At Veritas Primary Academy, we are committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive and ambitious school community where every child is valued, supported and inspired to achieve their very best. Our approach to equality, diversity and inclusion is underpinned by our core values of Safe, Ownership, Aspiration and Respect (SOAR). These values shape our culture, inform our decision-making and guide how we support every member of our school community.
We believe that every child should have the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their background, circumstances or individual needs. We are committed to eliminating discrimination, advancing equality of opportunity and fostering positive relationships between people from different backgrounds and experiences.
At Veritas, we strive to ensure that all pupils can access a high-quality education, a broad and engaging curriculum, and the wider opportunities that help them develop confidence, character and ambition. We actively identify and remove barriers to learning and participation, ensuring that every child is supported to flourish both within and beyond the classroom.
We celebrate the diversity of our school and wider community and promote respect, kindness and understanding through our curriculum, assemblies and wider school experiences. We encourage our pupils to value themselves, others and the world around them, helping them develop into responsible, respectful citizens who contribute positively to society.
As an employer, we are committed to equality of opportunity and seek to ensure that recruitment, training, development and promotion processes are fair, transparent and inclusive.
Our governors regularly review the school's compliance with the Equality Act 2010 and Public Sector Equality Duty and monitor progress towards our equality objectives.
