At Veritas Primary Academy, we believe that Physical Education is a vital part of every child's development. Our aim is to provide an inclusive, challenging, and enjoyable PE curriculum that inspires a lifelong love of physical activity and promotes positive physical and mental wellbeing.
From Pre-School through to Year 6, pupils experience a broad, balanced, and progressive PE curriculum that enables them to develop fundamental movement skills, physical competence, confidence, and a passion for being active. Through high-quality teaching, children are encouraged to challenge themselves, take risks, show resilience, and achieve their personal best in a safe and supportive environment.

Our curriculum is carefully designed in line with the National Curriculum and the principles of the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework, ensuring that learning is ambitious, sequential, and accessible for all pupils. Children build their knowledge and skills through a wide range of activities, including gymnastics, dance, athletics, games, outdoor and adventurous activities, and swimming.
We are committed to ensuring that every child can participate and succeed regardless of background or ability. Through both curricular and extracurricular opportunities, pupils develop important values such as teamwork, respect, determination, fairness, leadership, and sportsmanship. We celebrate participation, effort, and achievement while fostering a culture of fun and enjoyment, helping children understand the importance of leading healthy, active lives.
For Year 3-6 children, Swimming is taught as an essential life skill, enabling pupils to develop confidence and competence in the water while meeting national curriculum expectations.
At Veritas, we strive to ensure that every child leaves primary school physically literate, confident in their abilities, and equipped with the knowledge, skills, and motivation needed to enjoy an active lifestyle throughout their lives.
