Art and Design

Art inspires creativity and empowers children to have the confidence to express their interests, thoughts and ideas though different techniques and media. 

At Veritas Primary Academy, we believe that every child is an artist. Our Art and Design curriculum is designed to nurture creativity, curiosity and confidence, giving children opportunities to explore ideas, experiment with materials and develop the knowledge and practical skills needed to express themselves creatively.

Pupils use a range of materials creatively, explore drawing, painting and sculpture, and develop their understanding of visual elements including colour, pattern, texture, line, shape, form and space. They also encounter the work of different artists, craft makers and designers and begin to make connections between these works and their own creations.
